Job Summary:

The Deputy Manager for Cyber Underwriting will play a key role in supporting the delivery of underwriting results and operational standards across all regions of Chubb Overseas General (COG) Cyber. This position will drive the strategy and implementation for growing the Cyber Practice across all regions and segments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Global Cyber Product team to effectively implement and drive growth in Cyber across all COG regions.
  • Work with the Industry Practice Managers to ensure consistency is maintained with strategy where cyber is part of the product offering.
  • Develop and implement Cyber underwriting guidelines, appetites, rating manuals, and product summaries in collaboration with the Global Cyber Product team.
  • Lead product development, manage the WASP process, and update policy wordings in collaboration with the Global Cyber Product team.
  • Localize the cyber service proposition in coordination with Cyber Risk Engineering/Threat Intelligence and Cyber Innovation Officer to ensure successful execution and delivery across geographic territories and customer segments.
  • Develop and deploy technical training frameworks and produce specialist underwriting knowledge content. Support additional learning and development activities led by the COG Cyber EVP.
  • Collaborate on reinsurance submissions, portfolio review process, and quarterly reporting with the Cyber and Technology team.
  • Validate data with actuaries, modelling, data analytics, and portfolio management teams.
  • Ensure data integrity on the portfolio held accountable by regional cyber managers for cyber portfolio management purposes.
  • Respond to referrals in major accounts and middle market for both Cyber and Technology.
  • Deliver authority to line underwriters consistent with experience and expertise.
  • Support Cyber and Technology audits and manage compliance with the Peer Review process for the cyber line of business.
  • Participate in major meetings with managers, brokers, and policyholders to negotiate coverage terms when needed.
  • Review proposed manuscript policy and endorsement wording by external parties.
  • Assist in the marketing of Cyber product through panel discussions, white papers, and presentations.

Requirements:

  • Support the Cyber EVP in internal stakeholder management communications and delivery.
  • Create thought leadership articles for internal and external distribution.
  • Collaborate with the insurance market, customers, and industry associations as appropriate.
  • Ideally degree qualified with demonstrable experience in cyber insurance underwriting.
  • Substantial experience with underwriting models, product development, manuscript drafting, or technical underwriting is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive collaborative relationships within and across functional lines.
  • Clear ability to manage autonomously in a highly matrixed environment.
