Business Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Procurement Manager to join our team in Southampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategizing, managing, and advising on all procurement-related issues within the designated region/pillar.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement category strategies to improve business efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage supplier relationships, including visits, reviews, risk assessments, and resolving procurement issues.
- Oversee the tendering and contract approval processes in collaboration with stakeholders and the legal department.
- Ensure supplier compliance with site and company requirements for safety and sustainability.
- Implement a Supplier Performance Management approach and collaborate with central category procurement to implement improvements and innovations.
- Develop and implement local category strategies, leading cross-functional teams as needed.
- Negotiate pricing to ensure the lowest cost and source new business opportunities.
- Manage the procurement of parts and services on a just-in-time basis within defined quality parameters and best price to ensure the terminal achieves its performance objectives.
- Proven track record of procurement experience directly or indirectly with respect to a container terminal operation, oil & gas industry, chemical process industry, or heavy industrial plant machinery.
- International procurement experience would be beneficial.
- Experience with managing a team of procurement specialists.
- Thorough understanding of software applications for purchasing such as IBM Maximo and Oracle Fusion.
- Certified or actively seeking certification in National Purchasing Management Association, CIPS or similar (Desired but not essential).
- Ability to travel to our other port when necessary.
- A full valid UK driving licence or appropriate international licence allowing you to drive on UK roads.
