Security Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at UTAC in Bedford. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of performance, discipline, and appearance, while providing a proactive approach to security.
Key Responsibilities:- Protect company premises, assets, and personnel
- Provide administrative support as required
- Provide emergency response cover to the site, using relevant equipment and training
- Welcome guests and provide a positive guest experience
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, guests, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
- Complete reports of daily activities and irregularities
- Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and detect evidence of tampering
- Answer all alarms and investigate disturbances
- Conduct searches of personnel and vehicles
- Provide cover of main switchboard and Radio control during non-standard hours
- Good standard of education
- SIA Licence preferred but not mandatory
- First Aid at Work Certificate preferred but not mandatory
- Professional Firefighting qualification or experience would be a distinct advantage
- Previous security role
- Experienced in a customer-focused role
- Fire-related background or experience would be a distinct advantage
- Basic knowledge of IT using Microsoft Office packages
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- A good knowledge of customer care
- A confident approach and ability to deal with difficult or confrontational people
- The ability to work with technical equipment
- The ability to respond positively to stressful situations
- The ability to follow instructions
