Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist

The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Specialist will play a crucial role in overseeing the comprehensive budgeting and forecasting initiatives, evaluating and reporting on monthly financial outcomes, and generating valuable financial insights to aid the organization in achieving its strategic goals.

Reporting StructureThis position reports directly to the CFO, offering the successful candidate exposure to the recruitment services industry and the opportunity to engage with a private equity-backed firm known for its remarkable growth trajectory. The fast-paced environment will provide insights across all organizational levels, challenging the candidate's competencies from technical skills to interpersonal abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Design and manage the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, consolidating inputs from various business divisions and corporate functions.
- Analyze and scrutinize monthly results, engaging with Managing Directors to ensure alignment with overall targets set by the Board.
- Prepare comprehensive budget packs for business units, ensuring clarity and transparency over financial figures and accompanying narratives.
- Conduct monthly financial performance analysis, creating variance explanations and bridges.
- Verify and consolidate commentary from business unit leaders, ensuring consistency with financial data.
- Perform monthly operational cost analysis, reconciling headcount with staff expenses and examining variable expenditures.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of key financial KPIs within financial systems, ensuring alignment with operational management systems.
Financial Analysis
- Conduct thorough monthly financial performance evaluations, providing variance explanations and analytical insights.
- Consolidate and validate commentary from business unit leaders, ensuring coherence with financial results.
- Analyze operational costs monthly, reconciling headcount with staffing costs and scrutinizing variable expenditures.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial KPIs within financial systems, reconciling with operational management systems.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare periodic management reports for the Board, Divisional Managing Directors, and stakeholders, including insightful commentary.
General Support
- Assist the CFO and Director of Group Finance with various ad hoc projects as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree-educated, with a professional accounting qualification and a strong analytical and commercial mindset.
