Our mission focuses on saving lives and revitalizing communities impacted by landmines and other explosive threats, including unexploded ordnance. With a workforce of 12,500, we operate in 30 countries worldwide.
HALO has pioneered innovative technological and procedural advancements in Mine Action. We employ a diverse array of equipment and methodologies to locate and eliminate explosive threats. Our operations in Ukraine commenced in 2016, and following the escalation of conflict in February 2022, we have significantly expanded our efforts to safeguard civilians and restore agricultural land.
Role Overview:
The Procurement and Logistics Support Coordinator plays a vital role within the Global Procurement and Logistics team based at HQ, providing essential support and guidance to HALO's international programs. This position involves assisting in the management of international procurement requests in accordance with HALO's established procurement policies and procedures. Additionally, the coordinator will expedite purchase orders and support the timely delivery of goods to various programs, including coordination with international freight forwarders to ensure compliance with export regulations and safety standards.
This role requires a proactive approach, as you will be part of a small team and may need to work independently. Occasional travel to program sites may be necessary, as determined by departmental leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with HALO programs globally to facilitate international procurement requests and freight logistics in alignment with standard operating procedures.
- Engage with suppliers both domestically and internationally to obtain quotes, process purchase orders, and oversee deliveries to HALO programs and warehouses.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and efficient provision of goods and services.
- Utilize IT systems to ensure effective processing and tracking of purchase orders.
- Work closely with UK-based colleagues to support logistics and procurement needs related to office operations and events.
- Assist in managing ISO 9001 compliance requirements.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by your line manager that align with the role.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic work setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
