Technical and Compliance Manager Opportunity

A leading law firm with a national presence in the equity release sector is seeking a skilled and experienced Technical and Compliance Manager (Residential Conveyancing Solicitor) to join their team in Gloucester. This exciting opportunity offers hybrid working flexibility and the chance to take a leadership role within a dynamic law firm.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical legal advice program, providing supervision and support to the firm's transactional teams. Working closely with the Group Compliance Director, you will ensure the advice provided is compliant with trade standards and SRA regulations. Your key responsibilities will include developing policies, monitoring operations, and driving improvements in quality control systems. Additionally, you will lead and develop a team of solicitors and legal professionals, helping them achieve their career goals.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience handling complex caseloads of residential conveyancing matters
  • Strong expertise in sale, purchase, remortgage, and leasehold matters
  • Experience with unregistered properties and SDLT requirements, including relevant reliefs and exemptions
  • Team management experience, with the ability to coach and mentor staff
  • Knowledge of equity release and bridging transactions (advantageous but not essential)
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative
