About the Company

Our Client is a leading specialist joinery contractor, offering a comprehensive solution for bespoke joinery, covering projects from design stage through to production and installation.

This company has strategically spearheaded both residential and commercial markets, working with an impressive portfolio of repeat clients ranging from the industry's biggest house builders to fit-out contractors within London and the Home Counties. This diversity has notably brought market stability, steady workflow, and a solid order book for 2024.

Having acquired a stunning new headquarters and state-of-the-art production facility with all the latest machinery and technology, our client is fully functional in producing mass volume orders as well as complex and complete bespoke high-end joinery.

About the Opportunity

Due to huge market demand and company expansion plans, our Client is in the market for a proven Design Manager from a joinery background, ideally with buildability knowledge that has progressed from the bench.

  • Responsible for the production and management of design and technical documentation on projects from start to final account
  • Managing the design team
  • Working alongside the production line
  • Collaborating closely with installation teams and Project Managers
  • Conducting client/architect meetings
  • Using specialist computer software to produce plans and technical drawings for a range of products and components (2D and 3D, Solidworks, and Revit)
  • Ability in BIM modelling would be an advantage but not essential.
Requirements:

Just like every business, this contractor looks for a certain type of person. You'll need a minimum of 5 years proven experience working as a Design Coordinator/Manager for a rival joinery contractor, and a degree or CIOB qualification.

You should be a team player who can plan, is technically competent, experienced and knowledgeable in joinery, and capable of executing works to complete projects on time, meeting client expectations.
