Renal Care Nurse

Salford, Salford, United Kingdom Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

The Renal Services division at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is experiencing growth, creating new roles within our Haemodialysis Service.

We are looking to fill positions within our Acute Renal Hub and Haemodialysis Services.

This expansion necessitates an increase in our nursing staff at Band 5, and we invite Registered Nurses, whether seasoned, new to renal care, or newly qualified, to become part of our dynamic multi-disciplinary teams.

If you are a Registered or Student Nurse eager to elevate your career in Renal Services, this is an excellent opportunity. You will acquire extensive knowledge and versatile skills through exposure to various Renal conditions, facilitating lifelong treatment pathways aimed at ensuring maximum patient independence and enhancing quality of life. This includes managing acutely unwell adults, Haemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Home Dialysis, Venepuncture, Canulation, Blood Cultures, Intermediate Life Support, Chronic Kidney Disease, Vascular Access, and Transplantation.

Key Responsibilities

Registered Nurses in our services have advanced to higher band roles, including Specialist Nursing and Advanced Practitioner positions, as we are dedicated to nurturing and developing our workforce to maximize potential for the benefit of Patients, Staff, and the broader Service.

Our Commitment to You

  • Supportive leadership from experienced nursing professionals.
  • A unit-based, skilled multi-disciplinary team providing a comprehensive approach to patient care.
  • Specialized Renal Education Programs for all new hires, along with advanced training opportunities for experienced staff.
  • Flexible working arrangements - both full-time and part-time contracts are available, with a variety of shifts including early, late, twilight, and night shifts.
  • Opportunities for rotation - if you wish to gain experience beyond Dialysis and into acute renal care, we will collaborate with you to facilitate this across our Directorate.

This position is open to individuals who possess a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those currently enrolled in a program that will lead to obtaining their full NMC PIN within the next few months. Please note that an NMC PRN PIN does not qualify as a full NMC PIN and does not meet the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA is currently unable to accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who have not completed all competencies required for a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK, as our OSCE program is on hold indefinitely. For more information on obtaining a full NMC PIN to be eligible for future vacancies, please refer to the NMC website.
