Counsellor/Therapist (LGBTQ+ service)

Spectra is seeking an experienced and reliable Counsellor/Therapist to deliver counselling for LGBTQ+ young people in Hillingdon in partnership with P3. The successful candidate will have relevant recognised qualifications in the field of therapy, counselling/therapy and be an accredited or registered member of a professional body.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a diverse team of practitioners and we encourage counsellors, therapists, and creative arts therapists to apply. The role will be based on site at P3 Centre, Hillingdon, London, with the possibility of some online work.
The successful candidate will have experience of delivering individual and group therapeutic interventions in-person and identify under the broad umbrella of LGBTQ+ themselves. They will have a strong understanding of the mental health support needs of LGBTQ+ young people and be confident in engaging with young people in a supportive, affirmative, and non-judgemental way.
The role will support the service in ensuring high quality and consistent delivery in line with KPIs and outcome frameworks. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group therapeutic interventions to LGBTQ+ young people
- Work with the team to ensure high quality and consistent delivery in line with KPIs and outcome frameworks
- Develop and maintain relationships with young people, families, and other stakeholders
- Contribute to the development of the service and its policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Relevant recognised qualifications in the field of therapy, counselling/therapy
- Accredited or registered member of a professional body
- Experience of delivering individual and group therapeutic interventions in-person
- Strong understanding of the mental health support needs of LGBTQ+ young people
- Confident in engaging with young people in a supportive, affirmative, and non-judgemental way
