Job Title: Support Worker for Young Person with Autism and Epilepsy
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at People Plus Independent Living Services. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to a 13-year-old boy with Autism, Epilepsy, and Cerebral Palsy, enabling him to live a fulfilling and independent life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support with Daily Activities: Assist the young person with daily tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
- Football and Leisure Activities: Engage the young person in football and other leisure activities that promote social interaction, physical activity, and cognitive development.
- Seizure Management: Provide first aid and emergency care as required, and work closely with the young person's healthcare team to ensure seamless support.
- Communication and Social Skills: Foster meaningful relationships with the young person, promoting effective communication, social skills, and emotional well-being.
- Independence and Confidence Building: Support the young person in developing independence and confidence through structured activities and goal-setting.
Requirements:
- First Aid Training: Possess current first aid training and experience in managing seizures.
- Reliability and Flexibility: Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and a willingness to adapt to the young person's changing needs.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with the young person, family members, and healthcare professionals.
- DBS Disclosure: Hold an enhanced DBS disclosure, or be willing to undergo the process.
Working Hours: 5 hours per week, with days to be confirmed.
Hourly Rate: £14.75 per hour.
