Wood Process & Energy is seeking a qualified Lead Control and Instrumentation Engineer to enhance our projects on a contract basis. This role supports our initiatives and offers a hybrid working model, requiring a minimum of two days in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in projects within the Energy, Chemicals, and Refining sectors.
  • Oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) processes.
  • Collaborate within a project team as a Senior C&I engineer, contributing to various industry sectors on capital projects from inception to operational readiness.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and teamwork, working independently with minimal oversight.
  • Develop Instrument Engineering deliverables tailored to specific project needs.
  • Possess a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Hold Chartered Engineer status as a member of the Institute of Measurement and Control (IMC) or the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) (preferred).
  • Experience in specification control and safety system enhancements (preferred).
  • Specify field instrumentation, analyzers, and emergency shutdown (ESD) and actuated valves.
  • Size flow devices, control valves, and relief devices effectively.
  • Participate in HAZOP, LOPA, Alarm Reviews, and SIL Determination (preferred).
  • Familiarity with IEC 61511 Safety Lifecycle and Emergency Shutdown System architecture and design (preferred).
  • Possess TUV or similar Functional Safety Engineer certification (preferred).
  • Specify Fire & Gas systems and detection equipment, applying BS5839-1 standards.
  • Experience with IT, Telecoms, Networks, Access Control, and CCTV Systems (preferred).
  • Manage specification and interface requirements for Mechanical packages.
  • Interface with Client Engineers to facilitate project execution.
  • Coordinate with Vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Bring a strong technical background and expertise to the role.
  • Utilize relevant codes of practice, standards, and statutory documentation.
  • Apply design and assessment methods pertinent to the discipline.
