Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Principal Landscape Architect to enhance our dynamic team. This role presents the chance to engage in a variety of stimulating projects originating from the Planning department, focusing on comprehensive Landscape Architectural services. A particular emphasis is placed on Quarry Restoration projects, and prior experience in this area would be advantageous.

Expect a flexible working environment with opportunities for remote work, while leading a small team and receiving ample support from other departments and the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Oversee and manage projects, ensuring effective workload distribution, scheduling, and coordination with the Draughtsperson and specialist sub-consultants.
  • Client Relations: Engage with clients to ascertain their requirements and deliver customized solutions.
  • Proposal and Budget Oversight: Create project briefs and fee proposals, track project expenses, and maintain financial efficiency.
  • Contract Management: Prepare specifications, bills of quantities, and contract drawings, and oversee the execution of landscape works.
  • Landscape Design Execution: Conduct high-quality landscape design tasks.
  • Reporting and Evaluation: Compile detailed reports, including Landscape and Visual Assessments, and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments.
  • Landscape Management Planning: Develop and implement effective Landscape Management Plans.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, supporting their professional development.
  • Marketing Initiatives: Promote the firm's services and enhance its market visibility.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development relevant to the role.

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree and/or Master's in Landscape Architecture.
  • Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute.
  • A minimum of 5 years of post-chartership experience in either the public or private sector.
  • Full driving license and access to a personal vehicle.
