Role Summary:

Beach Baker is in search of a skilled Principal Landscape Architect to become part of their vibrant team. This position provides the chance to engage in a range of stimulating projects directly sourced from the Planning team, aiming to deliver comprehensive Landscape Architectural services. There is a current emphasis on exciting Quarry Restoration projects; experience in this area would be particularly advantageous.

Expect to enjoy significant flexibility in working from home while leading a small team, with ample support and autonomy available from other departments and the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Oversee and manage projects, coordinating workloads, scheduling, and collaboration with the Draughtsperson and specialized sub-consultants.
  • Client Relations: Engage with clients to comprehend their requirements and deliver customized solutions.
  • Proposal and Budget Oversight: Create project briefs and fee proposals, track project expenditures, and ensure financial efficiency.
  • Contract Management: Prepare specifications, bills of quantities, contract drawings, and oversee the execution of landscape works.
  • Landscape Design Execution: Conduct high-quality landscape design tasks.
  • Reporting and Evaluations: Compile detailed reports, including Landscape and Visual Assessments, and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments.
  • Landscape Management Development: Formulate and implement effective Landscape Management Plans.
  • Mentorship Responsibilities: Mentor and guide junior staff, supporting their professional development.
  • Marketing Initiatives: Promote the firm's services and enhance its market presence.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development relevant to the role.

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree and/or Master's in Landscape Architecture.
  • Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute.
  • A minimum of 5 years post-chartership experience in either the public or private sector.
  • Possession of a full driving license and access to a personal vehicle.
