Role Summary:

We are in search of a skilled Principal Landscape Architect to become a vital part of our energetic team. This position presents the chance to engage in a variety of stimulating projects that stem directly from the Planning department, focusing on comprehensive Landscape Architectural services. There is a notable emphasis on exciting Quarry Restoration initiatives; prior experience in this area would be highly advantageous.

Expect flexibility in working from home, while taking on the leadership of a small team, with ample support and autonomy from other departments and the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Oversee and manage projects, coordinating workloads, scheduling, and collaboration with the Draughtsperson and specialized sub-consultants.
  • Client Relations: Engage with clients to comprehend their requirements and deliver customized solutions.
  • Proposal and Budget Oversight: Create project briefs and fee proposals, track project expenditures, and ensure financial effectiveness.
  • Contract Management: Draft Specifications, Bills of Quantities, Contract Drawings, and supervise the execution of landscape works.
  • Landscape Design Execution: Conduct high-quality landscape design activities.
  • Reporting and Evaluations: Compile detailed reports, including Landscape and Visual Assessments, and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments.
  • Landscape Management Strategies: Formulate and implement effective Landscape Management Plans.
  • Mentorship: Support and mentor junior staff, promoting their professional development.
  • Marketing Initiatives: Advocate for the company's services and enhance its market visibility.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional growth relevant to the role.

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree and/or Masters in Landscape Architecture.
  • Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute.
  • A minimum of 5 years post-chartership experience in the public or private sector.
  • Valid driving license and access to a personal vehicle.
