About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Acceptance Testing Specialist to join our Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Department at AESC UK. The ideal candidate will support the safety systems of our organization and provide expert advice on the safe and efficient running of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and validate equipment design to ensure compliance with relevant safety standards
  • Conduct inspections of new and existing facilities to ensure the safe functioning of manufacturing equipment
  • Perform functional testing of safety features of equipment to ensure they meet industry standards
  • Verify compliance with relevant BS/EN/ISO machinery safety standards, CE and/or UKCA requirements, and legislation such as the Provision and Use of Workplace Equipment Regulations (PUWER)
  • Support facility installers with problem-solving and root cause analysis
  • Participate in the whole Facilities Acceptance Testing process and countersignature of acceptance results
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications, such as an Engineering or Electrical degree, or equivalent
  • A qualification in Health and Safety, such as a NEBOSH Certificate, or similar
  • Previous experience of facility installations and acceptance in a high-tech environment
  • Working knowledge of CE/UKCA conformity requirements and BS/EN/ISO safety standards for machinery
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and plant schematics
  • Strong PC and presentation skills, including MS applications, MS Project, and AutoCAD
  • Ability to give expert advice and support during the Statutory Approval and construction process
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
