Our founders understood the unique challenges faced by children with difficult backgrounds and prioritized their needs from the outset. This child-centered approach has allowed us to develop an Integrated Service Programme (ISP) that offers a comprehensive range of support services.
Our team includes social workers, fostering advisors, educators, and therapists, all collaborating to assist foster parents and the children they care for. This collaborative, therapeutic approach to fostering is a hallmark of our service.
Position Overview
Polaris Community is seeking a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join our integrated team, dedicated to enhancing the quality of foster care practices across the organization.
Key Qualifications:
- Recognized qualification in Social Work or equivalent from Social Care England
- Prior experience in children and families social work
- Thorough understanding of relevant legislation and publications regarding children's services
- Valid driving license with unrestricted access to a personal vehicle
Core Responsibilities:
This dynamic role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Supervising Independent Social Workers, including Form F Assessors and Panel Members
- Overseeing the formulation of Form F Assessments
- Conducting and organizing annual reviews
- Ensuring quality assurance
- Delivering Skills to Foster training sessions
- Managing safeguarding issues and complaints
- Participating in carer recruitment initiatives
This position offers a diverse range of experiences, allowing social workers to expand their skills in various aspects of fostering.
To qualify, candidates must be registered Social Workers with experience in the fostering sector, having worked collaboratively with foster carers in a multidisciplinary environment.
Successful applicants will undergo an enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which will be covered by Polaris Community.
