English Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teaching Assistant to support the educational journey of students in a vibrant secondary school environment. The successful applicant will be instrumental in enhancing the teaching of English across different year groups, providing essential support to both educators and learners.

This role involves engaging with students to enrich their learning experience and foster a love for the English language.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in Classroom Instruction: Collaborate with the lead educator to deliver interactive lessons that address varied learning styles. Facilitate group discussions, activities, and personalized tasks.
  • Provide Individualized Support: Offer targeted assistance to students needing extra help, ensuring comprehension of essential concepts and improvement in literacy.
  • Contribute to Lesson Preparation: Work alongside teachers to develop educational resources and materials that align with curriculum goals.
  • Track Student Development: Aid in evaluating student progress through informal assessments and relay insights to educators regarding individual learning needs.
  • Promote Positive Classroom Dynamics: Cultivate a supportive classroom atmosphere by encouraging respectful behavior and collaboration among students.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of GCSEs in English (Grade C or above) or equivalent; further studies in English or Education are advantageous.
  • Experience working with children or young adults is beneficial but not mandatory; we encourage applications from motivated individuals eager to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team while also demonstrating initiative.
  • A genuine commitment to education and a desire to help students thrive.
