English Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teaching Assistant to contribute to the educational experience in a vibrant secondary school environment. The selected individual will be instrumental in aiding the instruction of English across different year levels, providing essential support to both educators and learners to enrich the academic journey.

This role involves working closely with teaching staff to create an engaging and supportive atmosphere for students, ensuring that all learners can thrive in their studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in Classroom Instruction: Collaborate with the lead educator to deliver stimulating lessons that address various learning styles. Facilitate group activities, discussions, and individual learning tasks.
  • Provide Individualized Support: Offer assistance to students needing extra help, ensuring they understand key concepts and enhance their literacy capabilities.
  • Contribute to Lesson Preparation: Work alongside teachers to develop educational resources and materials, aligning them with curriculum goals.
  • Track Student Development: Aid in evaluating student progress through informal assessments and relay feedback to educators regarding individual student requirements.
  • Promote Positive Classroom Dynamics: Cultivate a constructive learning environment by encouraging respectful behavior and collaboration among students.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of GCSEs in English (Grade C or above) or equivalent qualifications; further studies in English or Education are advantageous.
  • Experience working with children or young adults is preferred but not mandatory; we encourage applications from motivated individuals eager to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team while also demonstrating independence.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for education and a commitment to helping students achieve their potential.
