Job Title: Ward Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Ward Manager to join our team at South West London and St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the inpatient nursing team on Jupiter Ward, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the inpatient nursing team to uphold high standards of patient care and services.
  • Develop and implement clinical governance initiatives and policy review to ensure the Trust's Nursing Strategy for Specialist Services is implemented.
  • Ensure the safekeeping of clients' money and property, adhering to relevant Trust policies.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including bed occupancy, manpower, and expenditure.
  • Participate in budget setting and report areas of concern to the General Manager.
  • Ensure effective communication is established within the service and external departments.
  • Investigate complaints, accidents, and critical incidents in accordance with agreed procedures and prepare timely reports.
Requirements:
  • RMN (current NMC registration)
  • ENB 998 or equivalent
  • Evidence of post-qualification training/education
  • Ongoing evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable:
  • Development at Diploma or Degree level
  • RGN qualification
  • Management qualifications
  • Training in providing supervision
