Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Construction Work Planner to support our operations in the public sector. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure effective planning and execution of construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Construction Work Planner, your primary duties will include:

  • Engaging with Subject Matter Experts to gather technical data for work pack preparation.
  • Conducting site walk-downs with relevant parties to confirm work scope and requirements.
  • Preparing comprehensive risk assessments aligned with the defined work scope.
  • Incorporating relevant feedback into work packs to enhance future planning.
  • Timely development of work packs, ensuring they are user-friendly and effective.
  • Maintaining standard work packs for various activities to streamline processes.
  • Coordinating necessary resources and access to facilitate smooth project delivery.
  • Determining crew sizes and durations for optimal execution of tasks.
  • Addressing conflicts and issues that may hinder progress, escalating as necessary.
  • Collaborating with Engineering teams to identify and procure required materials.
  • Evaluating job feedback to refine future work planning.
  • Maintaining archives of planning history for efficient preparation of work packs.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior planners on industry standards and regulations.

Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A background in engineering.
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Previous experience in planning roles.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The capability to manage urgent requests efficiently.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Consideration will be given to candidates from a construction background.
