Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Construction Work Planner to support our operations in the public sector. This role involves critical planning and coordination to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Construction Work Planner, your primary duties will include:

  • Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts to gather and confirm technical information for work pack preparation.
  • Conducting site assessments with stakeholders to define work scope, boundaries, and requirements.
  • Preparing comprehensive risk assessments aligned with the agreed work scope.
  • Incorporating relevant Operating Experience Feedback into work packages.
  • Timely development of work packs, adhering to established milestones.
  • Creating user-friendly work pack documents and maintaining standard formats for all activities.
  • Coordinating necessary resources and access to facilitate effective project delivery.
  • Determining crew sizes and durations to optimize work scope execution.
  • Proactively addressing issues that may hinder milestone achievement and communicating with management as necessary.
  • Identifying and reporting any constraints affecting the timely completion of work packs.
  • Collaborating with Engineering teams to identify and order required materials, ensuring availability prior to project commencement.
  • Utilizing job feedback to enhance future work pack development.
  • Maintaining planning history archives for efficient preparation of work packs.
  • Engaging with contractor planning resources to arrange necessary access and support for contractor activities.
  • Ensuring that contractor work packs consider appropriate controls for known facility hazards.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior planners to ensure compliance with process standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Offering insights on work planning issues and opportunities, ensuring stakeholder engagement and notification of any impacts on business objectives.

Essential Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:

  • A background in engineering.
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Previous experience in planning roles.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize site workload.
  • The capability to manage urgent requests effectively.
  • A collaborative mindset, working well within a team.
  • Consideration for candidates with a construction background.
