About the Role
The Departmental Manager will provide strategic leadership to the operational services, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, responsively, and professionally. This includes developing and evolving administrative procedures as required, and ensuring that systems are fit for purpose.
About You
The post holder will have a proven track record in a senior role in administration, operations, and management within a higher education environment. They will have experience of recruitment and effective development of staff, with demonstrable experience of effective budgetary management and control, including achieving targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership to the Departmental Manager team
- Develop and evolve administrative procedures as required
- Ensure that systems are fit for purpose and aligned with UCL, Faculty, and Departmental policies and strategies
- Manage and develop professional services within the Department
- Recruit and develop staff, with a focus on effective budgetary management and control
