Job Summary

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Outpatient Services team as a Referral Processing Coordinator. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth processing of referrals for new outpatient appointments, working closely with various departments to ensure accurate and timely information.

Main Responsibilities

  • Process referrals from multiple sources, ensuring all necessary information is recorded and updated in a timely manner.
  • Utilize various systems to upload referrals to the Outpatient Referral Console for medical triage, ensuring all attachments are included.
  • Open and check incoming mail, updating Patient Administration System (PAS) as necessary, and distributing and redirecting through the appropriate channels.
  • Access and update patient records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Register new patients, preparing appropriate health records and case note folders.
  • Track new registrations on PAS, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answering telephones and responding to queries in a professional and courteous manner.
