Principal Linux Engineer Role Overview

Location: Central London (On-site 3-4 days a week)

Compensation: £100,000 - £140,000 Base + Stock Options

83zero Limited is collaborating with an innovative and rapidly expanding AI Solutions firm that is transforming enterprise software infrastructure. They are in search of a Principal Linux Engineer who is enthusiastic about technology, excels in tackling intricate challenges, and is keen to make a significant contribution in the realm of AI and enterprise solutions.

In the capacity of Principal Linux Engineer, you will serve as the primary product authority, undertaking a crucial role in daily technical operations and escalations. By working closely with clients on-site in Central London, you will ensure the smooth integration and support of state-of-the-art AI infrastructure. Your expertise will also play a vital role in pre-sales initiatives, technical consultations, and customer installations, positioning you as a key contributor to the organization's success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • On-site engagement with clients in London (3-4 days a week)
  • Responsible for executing daily technical operations and escalations, including direct involvement in resolving technical support issues through collaboration with customer and development teams
  • Oversee customer installations, upgrades, and expansions
  • Facilitate monthly and quarterly customer review meetings
  • Act as a Trusted Advisor to both the customer technical team and the internal account team
  • Identify and propose opportunities for continuous improvement to ensure full product adoption by customers

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in customer-facing, post-sale roles dealing with complex storage solutions
  • Proficient knowledge and hands-on experience in standard Linux system administration tasks and the Linux operating system
  • Solid understanding of networking principles, with practical experience in network configurations on Linux and troubleshooting
  • Experience in scripting and programming, with required proficiency in bash scripting and familiarity with one or more additional programming languages
  • Extensive experience in file systems and scale-out NAS implementation
