Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Occupational Therapist or Speech and Language Therapist to lead our Under 5s Social Communication Pathway in Tower Hamlets. This position combines the roles of expert clinician with service and staff development, team leadership, and multi-disciplinary working.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a specialist intervention pathway for children with social communication difficulties under 5 years old.
  • Work closely with other therapy leads to develop and implement a comprehensive service for children with social communication difficulties.
  • Provide expert clinical leadership and guidance to therapy staff and other professionals working with children with social communication difficulties.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with partner organisations to ensure effective collaboration and service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to social communication difficulties.
Requirements
  • Qualified speech and language therapist or occupational therapist with experience of leading a team and developing pathways.
  • Experience of working with children with social communication difficulties in a community setting.
  • Experience of working with children in special or mainstream schools.
  • Experience of using research and evidence base to support families.
  • Experience of working with children with a range of developmental difficulties and their families.
  • Experience of working with families with different cultural backgrounds and home languages.
  • Experience of audit, quality improvement, and service development.
  • Experience of line managing colleagues.
  • Experience of leading and managing a team.
  • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
