Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our Under 5s Speech and Language Therapy service within Barts Health NHS Trust. The successful applicant will work in community clinics, children and family centres, clients' homes, and various venues in Tower Hamlets for one or both of our two teams: the Early Language Team and the Social Connect Team.

Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner, providing assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, and a variety of intervention programmes in the management of the under 5s caseload. S/he will provide advice and training to others, including inter- and multi-agency staff and parents/carers, to enable them to support the development of children's speech, language and communication skills.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have a recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy, be registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and The Health and Care Professions Council, and have experience of working with a broad range of paediatric communication disorders within one or more settings. S/he will also have excellent interpersonal skills, time management, organisation, delegation, and prioritisation skills, and be able to work independently without on-site, direct support from colleagues.
