Job Description

Ofgem is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Management Office Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of projects and programmes across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date delivery plans, identifying and managing milestones, and creating visibility of key decision points and dependencies within the central planning tool.
  • Ensure the organization's project management processes are followed and all required project documentation is maintained, including business cases and project initiation documents.
  • Manage the central Resourcing Tool to ensure a clear and up-to-date picture of resource needs across the Portfolio.
  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting for senior colleagues, programme SROs, and decision-makers as required.
  • Ensure effective risk management and assurance processes are in place, and a drumbeat for the regular review of risk across the Portfolio, feeding into and adhering to the central risk processes.
  • Engage with the central PMO team and provide information as required.
  • Actively engage with the wider Project Management and Delivery professional network to ensure sharing of best practice, building of capability, and promote continuous improvement.
Additional Responsibilities

  • Respond to ad-hoc requests as directed.
Person Specification
  • Experience in project management or a qualification, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner, Agile Project Management Practitioner, or Management of Risk Practitioner.
  • Proven experience in working in a PMO function or portfolio management.
  • Experience in developing delivery plans, including clear and transparent work objectives, milestones, and success metrics.
  • Skilled collaborator and strong communicator.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills at senior levels.
  • Experience of a range of project management techniques, including agile and waterfall.
