Behaviour Mentor Opportunity

Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our dynamic team of professionals working with SEMH schools in Croydon and Sutton boroughs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with students exhibiting challenging behaviour in a secondary special school setting.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, building trust and rapport to encourage their personal and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop and implement personalized intervention plans.
  • Utilize strong behaviour management skills to create a calm, supportive atmosphere within the school.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience working with young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
  • Completion of manual handling training is essential.
  • Strong behaviour management skills with a patient and understanding approach.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.

Our secondary special schools cater to students with SEMH needs, offering a practical-based curriculum and enrichment programs designed to re-engage students with education and guide them towards successful adulthood.

The schools aim to create supportive and therapeutic environments where students can develop their academic, social, and emotional skills.
