Key Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge and experience in applying models related to chronic health conditions, employing a variety of psychological techniques.
- A commitment to working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Capability to provide training to fellow professionals.
- A passion for research and development.
- Strong digital proficiency, including the ability to utilize the full suite of Microsoft 365 tools.
In addition to delivering psychological services to the Powys Living Well Service, you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills across various potential co-morbidities.
Support for your development will be readily available.
Main Responsibilities
Your role will involve supporting and enhancing the professional psychological care of clients seeking advice, support, and prehabilitation as part of the Health Board's Living Well Service across all care sectors. This includes providing psychological assessments and interventions, working independently under the guidance of a qualified Psychologist, and adhering to the policies and procedures of the Powys Living Well Service.
You will assist with clinically related administrative tasks, conduct audits, gather statistics, and contribute to the development of audit and/or research projects, as well as teaching and project work.
Working alongside a qualified Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for the psychological components of the multi-disciplinary/multi-agency care provided to adults.
You will also liaise with and offer advisory services to a diverse range of voluntary and statutory organizations.
Your time will be allocated between clinical/administrative duties and research/audit tasks as necessary.
You will manage an agreed caseload, with your work being overseen and evaluated weekly by a qualified Clinical Psychologist.

Qualifications
Essential
- An Honours Degree in Psychology, graded at upper second class or above.
- Eligibility for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
Desirable
- A Master's degree in a relevant field.
Experience
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in formal teaching.
- Clinical supervision of practice.
- A comprehensive understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with mental health issues and other disabilities.
- Proficient use of complex psychological assessment tools.
- Ability to apply theoretical psychological knowledge in mental and physical health contexts.
- Experience working with relevant client groups in healthcare settings.
Desirable
- Experience with databases, data analysis, and MS Teams.
- Prior paid experience in direct care provision, ideally as an Assistant Psychologist or Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with clients facing a variety of mental health challenges.
