Headquarters 160th (Welsh) Brigade serves as a vital link between the Army and the communities in Wales, managing over 100 personnel within its operational scope. This Brigade plays a crucial role in the planning and execution of UK operations in Wales, providing essential administrative support to soldiers and their families while ensuring a solid foundation for Army activities in the region.

The Administration Officers report directly to the Office Manager, ensuring the seamless execution of key responsibilities. They serve as the primary contact for Service Members regarding inquiries related to human resources, payroll, allowances, and documentation, offering essential support and guidance to personnel assigned to HQ 160th (Welsh) Brigade.

Key Responsibilities

As a Military Pay and Administration Officer, you will be tasked with:

  • Overseeing the management of military pay and allowances in compliance with established regulations and audit requirements for both Regular and Reserve personnel within HQ 160th (Welsh) Brigade.
  • Monitoring assignment orders to ensure timely personnel integration and appropriate allocation of allowances based on individual circumstances.
  • Documenting all instances of Separated Service and applying relevant temporary allowances as necessary.
  • Maintaining, updating, and overseeing allowances in accordance with regulations and Joint Service Publications.
  • Managing electronic records and registers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Generating and analyzing monthly management reports, verifying information, and taking corrective actions to maintain complete and accurate personnel records.
  • Acting as the Point of Contact for all group travel and accommodation arrangements, utilizing mandated service resources for various training and operational activities.
  • Managing personnel records concerning leave, competencies, wills, next of kin, emergency contacts, passports, and operational stress management.
  • Facilitating the application process for Honours and Awards, ensuring eligibility criteria are met and maintaining the relevant database.
  • Authorizing expense claims, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assisting Service personnel with claim submissions.
  • Overseeing the distribution of eyecare vouchers, ensuring stock levels are maintained and records are accurate.
  • Processing HQ Reserve Forces pay accurately through the Payment Processing System in line with regulations.
  • Supporting the Unit Briefing Officer with administrative tasks related to personnel resettlement and termination, managing the complete process.
