The management and prevention of infections is a critical focus for University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are currently seeking a qualified Clinician to take on a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the Trust-wide Infection Control service at UCLH. This position involves providing strategic guidance and leadership on the Infection Control agenda throughout the Trust.

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Infection Prevention and Control (DIPC) will be tasked with delivering strategic leadership on all matters related to Infection Prevention and Control across UCLH. The DIPC will provide expert advice on Infection Prevention and Control practices and serve as a specialist advisor to all staff, including Deputy DIPC's and the Infection Control team. The DIPC will oversee all Trust-level and external reporting and assurance processes. This role will involve championing and driving initiatives aimed at preventing and managing Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI).

The individual in this role will dedicate 2 Programmed Activities (equivalent to 1 working day) to the responsibilities of the DIPC, which will include attending strategic and operational meetings, developing and implementing an IPC strategy, and collaborating closely with key stakeholders.
