Clinical Lead for Infection Prevention and Control

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team. The IPC Clinical Nurse Specialist will work in conjunction with staff across our sites to improve IPC practice and reduce hospital-acquired infections.
Main Duties of the Job
Providing and supporting a visible and proactive approach to the prevention, surveillance, investigation, and control of infection. This includes the review, formulation, implementation, and education of evidence-based infection prevention and control practices (IPC), in line with national and Trust policy and guidance.
Providing expert advice to multi-professional colleagues, patients, and carers on IPC.
Contribute to the development and implementation of measures to reduce the incidence of infection.
Work collaboratively to develop systems and processes to support the organisation's objectives relating to IPC.
Working with clinical teams across the Trust to implement, monitor, and measure compliance relating to infection prevention and control.
Take a lead in the clinical audit process, including the evaluation and disseminating learning outcomes.
Developing and delivering educational and training programmes to all disciplines within the Trust.
Acting as a strong patient advocate, providing visible compassionate leadership, and ensuring that the care of patients reflects best clinical standards.
