Assistant Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Psychologist to join our Mental Health team at HMP Stocken, a Category C male prison near Oakham.
Job SummaryThis is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will receive an annual salary up to £30,660 per annum, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the mental health team and the wider healthcare team onsite to provide psychological care to patients.
- Support the psychological care of patients throughout their journey, from reception to release planning.
- Provide psychological assessment and interventions under the supervision of a qualified psychologist.
- Work with people with complex needs, which can present or lead to challenging situations or behaviors.
- Contribute to the Assessment Care in Custody Teamwork (ACCT) process and the Challenge, Support and Intervention Plan (CSIP).
- Monitor and provide feedback on patients' function and general mental health condition during the course of intervention.
- Carry out clinically related administrative tasks, including audits, statistics, and research projects.

- A Degree in Psychology is essential.
- A Master's Degree in Psychology would be beneficial.
- Experience as an Assistant Psychologist in a prison, community setting, or psychiatric environment is required.
- Experience in facilitating patient therapeutic groups and delivering psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention in an evidence-based therapeutic model is essential.
