About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Psychologist to join our Mental Health team at HMP Stocken, a Category C male prison. This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to patients and deliver outstanding care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the onsite Psychologist to provide vital support to patients
  • Deliver psychological assessment and interventions under the supervision of the qualified psychologist
  • Monitor and provide feedback on patients' function and general mental health condition during the course of intervention
  • Carry out clinically related admin tasks, including audits, statistics, and research projects

Requirements
  • Hold a Degree in Psychology
  • Experience within an Assistant Psychologist role, whether in a prison, community setting, or psychiatric environment
  • Experience in facilitating patient therapeutic groups and delivering psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention in the structure of an evidence-based therapeutic model (CBT/CFT/DBT)
