Berry Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Procurement Specialist to join a family-owned Manufacturing organization.

In this role, you will work closely with the purchasing team to ensure the timely procurement of all necessary materials, both direct and indirect, at the most competitive prices.

Your performance will be assessed based on supplier effectiveness and your contribution to the organization's profitability through strategic material sourcing and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Procurement Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Placing orders for both contractual and non-contractual goods based on MRP reports and manual requests.
  • Managing supplier relationships and identifying new sourcing opportunities.
  • Negotiating cost reductions wherever possible.
  • Maintaining up-to-date supplier information in the MRP system and regularly evaluating their performance.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and initiating improvement programs as necessary.
  • Ensuring minimum stock levels are maintained in accordance with MRP requirements.
  • Adjusting MRP parameters for components to guarantee timely availability and optimal batch sizes.
  • Following up on outstanding purchase orders in collaboration with Production Control.
  • Providing support to Stores staff as needed, including during inventory activities.
  • Assisting Production Control in facilitating workflow through the production process.
  • Offering assistance in other areas of the company as required based on reasonable requests.


Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A qualification in Purchasing (CIPS) is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience with MRP/ERP/SAP systems and proficiency in using these tools for placing and reviewing Purchase Orders, as well as updating parts and supplier or customer data.
  • Experience in supplier or customer management.
  • Competency in the use of MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • A professional and entrepreneurial approach to procurement.
  • Excellent communication and assertiveness skills.
