Senior Commercial Strategy Analyst

An exciting opportunity has emerged within our Sourcing division in Cheltenham for a Senior Commercial Strategy Analyst (Lead for Bids & Proposals). This pivotal role will significantly influence the strategic direction of our Cheltenham operations, encompassing the responsibility for Sourcing contributions to all Bids and Proposals across various Programs at the site.
Moreover, this position will engage with our Sourcing Commodity Leaders and Cost Optimization teams to identify margin challenges and future prospects, delivering analytical insights and strategic guidance.
This role will collaborate closely with Sales, Product Groups, Engineering Technical Leaders, and Contracts to ensure the Inquiry to Order (ITO) process is executed efficiently from a Sourcing standpoint. Coordination with the Commercial Operations and programs teams will be essential to provide visibility on upcoming bids, enabling alignment within the sourcing organization to support this vital business function.
Proposals will generally be strategic, aimed at new business ventures while also offering support and guidance for ongoing initiatives. This position will oversee all aspects of proposal regulatory compliance, with a primary focus on adhering to relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing contributions for all proposal initiatives, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Develop and manage a tracking system for current and anticipated proposals to facilitate resource planning and alignment within Sourcing.
- Collaborate with Commodity, Cost Optimization, and New Product Introduction teams to define our future margin enhancement strategy.
- Engage with the Recurring Cost Analysis team to drive compliance simplification and identify learning opportunities across cross-functional teams.
- Address obstacles and challenges to ensure timely delivery of proposal inputs, partnering with the Commercial Operations team to enhance decision-making efficiency.
- Work alongside commodity teams to explore opportunities for optimizing existing pricing based on projected future volumes.
- Represent Sourcing during relevant bid reviews (as delegated).
