Desktop Support Specialist

Job Summary:
Tulip Recruitment is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our team. As a Desktop Support Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our clients in a distribution environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Hardware and Software Issues: Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for all end-user devices, including laptops, desktops, printers, and other IT equipment related to distribution center operations.
- Deploy Windows-Based Desktops and Notebooks: Deploy Windows-based desktops and notebooks, and ensure they are properly configured and functioning correctly.
- Computer Imaging Using SCCM: Use SCCM to image computers and ensure they are properly configured and functioning correctly.
- Respond to User Requests: Respond to user requests through a ticketing system, such as Service Now, and provide timely and effective support.
- Communicate with Team Members and Users: Communicate with team members and users of all levels, both verbally and in writing, to ensure effective communication and support.
- Knowledge of Viruses and Virus Removal: Have knowledge of viruses and virus removal, and be able to remove viruses from computers and other devices.
- Unlock, Reset, and Administer User and Computer Accounts: Unlock, reset, and administer user and computer accounts in Active Directory.
- Work Collaboratively: Work collaboratively with team members and users to resolve technical issues and provide effective support.
- Set Priorities and Meet Project Deadlines: Set priorities and meet project deadlines to ensure timely and effective support.
- Coordinate Warranty Covered Repairs: Coordinate warranty-covered repairs with vendors and ensure that repairs are completed in a timely manner.
- Asset Management: Manage and maintain computer equipment and software licensing, and ensure that all equipment is properly configured and functioning correctly.
- Maintain Printing Devices: Maintain various models and types of printing devices, and ensure that they are properly configured and functioning correctly.
- Manage and Escalate Critical Issues: Manage and escalate critical issues to management or relevant teams, and ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Desktop and Laptop Support: Experience in desktop and laptop support, including support of Windows 11.
- Microsoft Office Products: Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- MDM Solution: Experience with using an MDM solution.
- ITIL or Equivalent Experience: Experience with ITIL or equivalent experience.
- Active Directory: Experience with Active Directory, specifically users and groups.
- Printer and IT Equipment Configuration: Experience with configuring and supporting printers and IT equipment.
- UK Driving License: A UK driving license, as there may be a requirement to attend other sites on occasion.

- Good Time Management Skills: Good time management skills and the ability to handle conflicting priorities.
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Technical Aptitude: Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to follow step-by-step technical specifications.
- Ability to Work Independently: The ability to work independently and remotely, with limited supervision.
