Job Summary: Midas VFX is seeking a skilled Junior System Administrator to support our IT operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the systems that keep our studio running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Maintenance: Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, workstations, and network devices to ensure optimal performance and stability.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to the team, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Infrastructure Management: Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure secure and efficient access to company resources.
- Backup and Recovery: Perform routine backups and data recovery processes to ensure business continuity in the event of a disaster.
- Software Deployment: Support the deployment and management of VFX software and tools, ensuring compatibility with the existing infrastructure.
- Security and Compliance: Collaborate with the senior IT team to implement security protocols and maintain system integrity, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Keep documentation of IT processes, configurations, and network architecture up to date, and provide regular reports on system performance and security.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about new technologies and best practices to help improve the efficiency of our systems and stay ahead of the competition.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of server and network management, including Linux and Windows operating systems, understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and security practices.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently or as part of a team, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused approach to IT support.
- Experience: Experience with VFX software and tools (e.g., Maya, Houdini, Nuke) is a plus, but not required.
