Overview: The Revenues and Benefits Service at Sheffield City Council is tasked with the management of Billing, Collection, and Recovery processes related to Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefit Overpayments, and Sundry Debts.

Position Summary: We are seeking motivated and positive individuals to join our Revenues team, eager to enhance their expertise across various aspects of the Service.

Job Details: This role is a permanent, primarily full-time position within our Business Rates, Council Tax Billing, Collection, Council Tax Recovery, Housing Benefit Overpayments, and Sundry Debt Recovery teams, requiring a commitment of 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Work Environment: Our organization currently employs a hybrid working model, necessitating a minimum of 20% in-office attendance.

Key Responsibilities: Candidates should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Familiarity with Business Rates, Council Tax, Council Tax Support, Housing Benefit Overpayments, and Sundry Debt Recovery.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Capability to acquire a foundational understanding of basic Revenues and Benefits regulations and procedures.
  • Commitment to customer service excellence.
  • Effective communication skills across various channels.
  • Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to teamwork.
