About the Role

The University of Manchester is seeking to appoint five Research Development Officers to support the Faculty of Science and Engineering in strategically developing its research income.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of research proposals, particularly in areas related to impact and funding.
  • Assist academic colleagues in identifying, embedding, and recording impact plans and objectives in research proposals.
  • Draft non-technical and institutional content for proposals to ensure alignment with funder requirements.
  • Facilitate internal and external collaborative research priority areas and exploit funding intelligence to maximize the Faculty's benefits from funding opportunities.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience in supporting research development, preparation, and submission of research proposals.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of academic colleagues and excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work in an agile manner and engage in activities and tasks across different boundaries.
