Job Overview

The Global and Investment Banking Technology Division is on the lookout for a Technical Product Owner to take a leadership role within the deal execution technology team, emphasizing Business Controls & Efficiency.

As a Software Engineer/Product Owner at JPMorgan Chase, you will be a vital member of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, developing, and delivering reliable, market-leading technology solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your role as a key technical contributor will involve managing critical technology initiatives across various business functions to support the firm's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and implement value streams that generate business impact, aligning with the broader technology strategy.
  • Independently lead a program, ensuring effective communication with clients and management while addressing escalations as necessary.
  • Monitor return on investment and actively pursue enhanced value realization.
  • Analyze intricate client workflows and datasets.
  • Collaborate with end users (Bankers, Business Management, Control Management), the UX team, architecture, and other software engineering partners to design solutions.
  • Articulate user stories, draft functional and non-functional requirements, and oversee a clear release process with suitable marketing, feedback tracking, and follow-up.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for the team, comprehending client needs and business drivers to shape effective solutions.
  • Ensure proper data utilization in feature development and contribute to the continuous enhancement of data standards in line with the firm's data strategy.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of the end-user experience through user research, metrics, and stakeholder relationships, influencing prioritization and direction.
  • Implement innovative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Deliver high-quality production code and review code produced by peers.
  • Promote awareness and utilization of new and cutting-edge technologies.
  • Contribute to a team culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years in a hybrid Software Engineer/Product Owner role, delivering business requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in the functional design of complex enterprise systems.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • In-depth understanding and experience with end-to-end software development frameworks like Agile/Scrum.
  • Proficient in JIRA or similar agile project management tools for creating stories and tracking progress.
  • Experience managing senior business stakeholders in a global context.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with stakeholders across different regions.
  • A commercial mindset focused on delivering short, medium, and long-term strategies for sustained efficiency; innovative thinking; emphasis on simplification.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and foster meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.
  • Proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
  • Preferred: Solid understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD), including context maps, context cards, anti-corruption layers, and in-depth knowledge of the financial services sector.
