Business Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as we embark on an exciting phase of expansion. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Chief Financial and Operating Officer to ensure the smooth running of the academy's finances, estates management, and human resources functions.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have proven experience in financial management within an educational or similar setting with a strong grasp of estates management and HR processes. Our academy is a centre of excellence and one of the highest achieving schools in the country, we were judged 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in 2022. Our academy is renowned for high quality teaching and learning, outstanding pastoral care and extensive extra-curricular provision.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the academy's finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Oversee estates management, including maintenance, repairs, and capital projects
- Lead on HR processes, including recruitment, absence management, and employee relations
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the academy's financial and operational performance
- GCSE Math and English (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent
- School business qualification (CSBM or DSBM) or currently working towards accreditation
- Qualification in health & safety, IOSH or NEBOSH
- Experience of working in a financial environment, preparing management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, nominal ledger journals, purchase ledger and credit control
