About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Reporting Accountant to join our team at Babcock, a leading international company that delivers complex and critical programmes and services for customers in the UK and around the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a reporting service to the Land Sector Training Business Unit, delivering accurate and timely financial data to support business decision-making.
  • Liaise with the Group, Sector, and Business Facing Finance teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Work within the Land Sector FP&A Team to provide a reporting service for the Business Facing finance teams within agreed Sector and Group deadlines.
  • Deputise for the FP&A Manager when required, taking on additional responsibilities and ensuring continuity of service.
  • Assist with managing the relationship with Group and BU Finance, building strong working relationships and ensuring effective communication.
  • Support identified continuous improvement projects on behalf of the BU finance and Sector FP&A teams, driving process improvements and enhancing business performance.
  • Support consolidation, review, and sign-off of the Training Business Unit management accounts with the Training FD, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and manipulate data to present clear and concise financial messages for review.
  • Ability to ensure deadlines and targets are achieved or surpassed, demonstrating strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of industry and regulatory standards in respect to Financial Reporting, staying up-to-date with changing requirements.
  • Extensive experience in the use of Microsoft suite of applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Proven track record using BPC Reporting system or a similar application, demonstrating expertise in financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Recognised professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS) or equivalent / similar, demonstrating a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role, ensuring the highest level of security and confidentiality.
