About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team at Colas Ltd. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis to support business decision-making.

Main Responsibilities
  • Produce monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss (P&L), key performance indicators, variance analysis, and supporting commentaries.
  • Oversee the timely production of weekly payroll and subcontractor payments.
  • Prepare monthly reporting of Aged Working Capital (Debt & WIP), remedial and other provisions for contracts.
  • Liaise with project commercial managers and prepare bi-yearly budgets, including P&L, labour & equipment branch, overheads schedules.
  • Act as guarantor of local financial governance, ensuring segregation of duties, financial authorities, engagement rules with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with group accounting policies for financial reporting and highlight potential issues to management.
Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant or minimum 5 years of relevant experience as Management Accountant within a construction / contracting environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to liaise with managers across the business.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of accounting and reporting systems, applicable legislation, and the statutory and regulatory framework.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word is essential, as well as the ability to analyse and interpret data.
