Visa is seeking a seasoned and strategic leader to serve as the Group MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) for Currencycloud, a leading global payments platform within Visa's Money Movement Solutions division.
This role will be instrumental in shaping and executing a robust compliance strategy across diverse regions including EU, AP, CEMEA, LAC, and NA. You will guide the Currencycloud compliance function, ensuring alignment with Visa's Global Ethics and Compliance approach and navigating the complexities of an ever-evolving regulatory landscape.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a forward-thinking compliance strategy for Currencycloud, aligning with Visa's Money Movement Solutions vision and overall global ethics and compliance framework. Provide strategic insights to address complex regulatory challenges.
- Spearhead the development and refinement of comprehensive compliance policies and procedures, adapting to evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Act as a key advocate for Currencycloud and its customers, collaborating closely with business and development teams to ensure that processes and technologies comply with current and future regulatory initiatives.
- Cultivate a culture of compliance across all areas of the organization through targeted training programs and initiatives. Foster a sense of responsibility and awareness regarding compliance matters at all levels.
- Represent Currencycloud as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies. Provide timely documentation and responses to inquiries related to compliance matters.
- Oversee internal investigations into potential compliance breaches and develop robust remediation plans where necessary.
- Collaborate seamlessly with various departments, regions, and other Visa companies to integrate compliance requirements into business processes. Work closely with risk management and other stakeholders to address complex compliance challenges.
- Lead second-line compliance activities across Currencycloud globally, ensuring adherence to AML/CFT (Anti-Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism) regulations. Implement policies and controls to comply with applicable sanctions requirements and mitigate money laundering and counter-terrorist financing risks, including disclosure.
- Extensive experience as a Chief Compliance Officer within the Banking or Payments industry, encompassing Correspondent Banking, Fintechs, Foreign Exchange, and multiple jurisdictions is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, AML/CFT requirements, and compliance practices. Ability to make independent decisions based on regulatory guidance and best practices.
- Proven leadership skills demonstrated through successful team building and strategic implementation initiatives.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Agility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic regulatory environment.
- Experience working within highly regulated environments is essential.
- Minimum 15 years of demonstrable experience in the financial industry.
- Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or equivalent are highly valued.
