Join Our Team as a Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry

We are seeking two full-time Specialty Doctors to join our team at Cygnet Wallace Hospital in Dundee. As a Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry, you will play a crucial role in shaping our services and working closely with a Consultant Psychiatrist and multidisciplinary team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist.
  • Attend Care Programme Approach and mental health tribunals.
  • Ensure that medical decisions are implemented as planned.
  • Audit medical services and ensure compliance with GMC and other professional guidelines.
  • Uphold policies and procedures and contribute to service governance and development.
  • Participate in the 1:6 on-call rota.

Requirements
  • Experienced within a mental health setting.
  • Knowledgeable of mental health legislation and codes of practice.
  • An excellent clinical decision maker, with sound judgment and ability to manage risk.
  • A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess, and treat patients and write clear, comprehensive medical notes.
  • Committed to continued professional development.
