We are seeking an exceptional Specialty or Associate Specialist Doctor to join our team at Cygnet Wallace Hospital in Dundee. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in shaping our services and providing high-quality care to our patients.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced doctor to join our team and contribute to the delivery of our services. You will work closely with our Consultant Psychiatrist and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist
- Assess referrals and undertake mental state examinations of service users
- Participate in weekly ward rounds and attend multidisciplinary meetings
- Attend Care Programme Approach and mental health tribunals
- Provide up-to-date clinical information at all meetings
- Ensure that medical decisions are implemented as planned
- Audit medical services and ensure compliance with GMC and other professional guidelines
- Uphold policies and procedures and contribute to service governance and development
- Participate in the 1:6 on-call rota
- Salary up to £80,000 (depending on experience)

- Fully GMC registered and MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
- AMP (Approved Medical Practitioner) status or eligibility to apply for it
- Experienced within a mental health setting
- Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledgeable of mental health legislation and codes of practice
- An excellent clinical decision maker, with sound judgment and ability to manage risk
- A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess, and treat patients and write clear, comprehensive medical notes
- Committed to continued professional development
- Preferably a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent
This programme will help you develop the skills you need to progress to Consultant level and you will rotate within wards/services to gain valuable experience across various subspecialties.
