About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinical Lead to join our team at the Children's Ward, Furness General Hospital. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our services.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Provide effective leadership and support to all grades of staff, planning and directing activities to provide optimal standards of care.
  2. Ensure that the ward/department is clean and provides a safe environment for children, parents, and staff.
  3. Deputise for Senior Nurses when required and undertake Directorate site-based management responsibilities as needed.

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust operates from three main hospitals, providing a range of General Hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and Consultant-led services. We also provide a range of local outreach services and diagnostics from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Registered Children's Nurse
  • Post-basic qualification relevant to children's nursing
  • Teaching and assessing qualification

Desirable qualifications include a 1st degree or willingness to undertake same, and recent leadership development or willingness to undertake a course.
