Regional Health and Safety Specialist (South-West)
Location: Hybrid - Remote
Salary: ~ £55,000 + WFH + Car Allowance + Milage + Additional Benefits
We've been engaged by a leading Nationwide Fresh Produce Distribution Company to recruit a Regional Health and Safety Specialist in the South-West. This role is specifically focused on working alongside Operation Managers and the wider HSE Team to drive a positive Health and Safety initiatives throughout the business.
Responsibilities of the Regional Health and Safety Specialist will include:
- Providing subject-matter expertise, leadership, and coaching to build safety & health capability across the site.
- Ensuring the site is compliant with UK legislation and in line with the overall UK strategy for Health and Safety.
- Engaging with members of staff at all levels across the site to improve awareness and commitment to Health and Safety issues.
- Managing a regular audit and inspection programme, assessing Health and Safety performance, and identifying areas of improvement.
- Engaging with key internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, regulators, and enforcement agencies as required.
The successful Regional Health and Safety Specialist will have:
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a related logistics, warehousing, or distribution environment.
- Ideally, a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, and Membership of IOSH or other relevant professional body.
- A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation.
- An enthusiastic and positive approach to health and safety.
