Job Description

Barclay Meade is seeking an experienced Export Compliance Manager to ensure full compliance with global import/export regulations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the company's adherence to ITAR, UK Export Controls, and other international trade laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Trade Compliance Policies: Create and oversee trade compliance policies, including ITAR and UK Export Regulations, to ensure seamless compliance.
  • Train Internal Teams: Provide comprehensive training to internal teams on compliance processes and legal requirements to ensure a thorough understanding.
  • Manage Licensing Applications: Oversee licensing applications and ensure accurate record-keeping to maintain compliance.
  • Oversee Import/Export Documentation: Manage import/export documentation and maintain control of customs procedures to ensure smooth operations.
  • Liaise with Regulatory Authorities: Liaise with regulatory authorities and internal departments to expedite approvals and ensure compliance.
  • Provide Strategic Advice: Provide strategic advice on trade compliance to various teams, including Business Development and R&D, to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Conduct Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence on customers, end-users, and third parties to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
Requirements:
  • Extensive Experience: Extensive experience in trade/export compliance, preferably within the defence sector.
  • In-Depth Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and UK Export Controls.
  • Technical Skills: Experience using SPIRE, CHIEF, and LITE systems.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commercial Awareness: Commercial awareness and a keen eye for detail.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
